An officer in Farmington was injured after a collision while trying to pull over a motorcycle. The officer collided with an SUV that was turning into the street.
FARMINGTON — A Centerville police sergeant was injured when his vehicle collided with a Jeep Cherokee while pulling over a motorcycle in Farmington.
Farmington Police Chief Wayne Hansen said the Centerville officer was heading west on Park Lane at 12:07 p.m. Tuesday when he tried to pull over a motorcycle. He had entered the intersection at Park Lane, when a 74-year-old woman in the Jeep was making a left turn onto Interstate 15. The officer broadsided the Jeep.
Hansen said he does not know if the sergeant had the flashing lights on his car. Also, the driver of the motorcycle was not at the accident scene when Farmington police and emergency crews arrived.
The woman, who complained of pains in her left side, and the Centerville police officer were transported to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.
